The difference between a child learning by getting up after each fall and an adult who does the same is that an adult generally falls less physically but more mentally and emotionally.
Adults must take these slip ups, falls and hurt as life’s challenges, believe in the light and simply learn from each failure. The pain from each fall is temporary and prepares us for life’s bigger challenges.
Always remember that the mind is stronger than the body!
We live in a society which seems to feed off the misery and failure of others.
Misinformation often provided intentionally to mislead others has become the hallmark of our society. Some refer to this as a “pull him down” society…. i think it has gone beyond this!
Life is based on paradoxes. When we seek happiness for ourselves we receive chaos instead. Yet when we strive to make others happy, we ourselves receive happiness. The more we share with others, the more we receive.
If we can accept this we might progress as a people. This in many ways is the secret of happiness. Live it today. Give when you want to take. Support when you want to ignore. Never forget those who have shown you kindness. Show mercy when you want to judge.
Isn’t it sad when people are fixated on plans and cannot see what they are missing by being so rigid.
Goals are good. But don’t get lost in them. Your average person spends their lives chasing something they never attain, at the expense of everything else.
Remember your fallibility and try to put your trust in a force higher than your logic. You may not know exactly where it wants to take you, but you can be certain that if you trust, it will be the right place.
A young couple moves into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbour hanging the wash outside.
”That laundry is not very clean”, she said. “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.”
Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbour would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: “Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this.”
The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”
And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.
It is easy to discuss other people, their lives & things that really don’t even concern us that we tend to forget – our windows may not be that clean after all!!

The cataracts who blind us to good are fair-weather friends and family whose negativity is masked by our love….
One thing that i have learnt over time is that it is when you least expect support, especially when you have been under attack or pressure, that is when you get to know who your real friends and admirers are.
Today, i spent part of the morning with a special birthday friend of mine and i was amazed at the levels of support he received as compared to more recent years.
Perhaps then empty barrels do indeed make the worst or loudest noises!
The only thing that matters to me is that our children are happy and truly understand and accept the direction we are taking them. We must understand that their future must be based on both their ability and their happiness. What they want to do against what they can do plus our realisation that the world has changed is key! They can be anything they want to be!
There are some days when we all have to stop and take a long hard look at ourselves. We may have to realise that our dreams and plans are now impossible and that if we pursue them in the direction we are many people including ourselves may suffer. We may have to realise that we are not as young and sprightly as we once were and therefore we require more rest and relaxation if we are not to damage our health. We may have to realise that it is time to allow others the opportunity to blossom and that would not be possible unless we change or move aside. There are so many things which we will see if we look at our life reflection in the mirror of life!
The reason why there is no need to fear is that God will always provide an even greater opportunity if we are prepared to let go!
Understanding that the mind is stronger than the body is the first step in combating adversity!
The maze of love and life has no set walls, rules or parameters and yet when matters go awry we seek a single solution when there is no such thing except as a generalisation. The reason people accept general advise is that it invariably gives hope and makes them feel better whereas they often need to resort to their natural selfish bestial instincts to resolve the confusion and at times the pain.
